THE PROJECT

Groupe E wanted to offer a product as a Cloud SaaS (Software as a Service) solution, enabling a local community – be it a municipality, a harbor, a campsite or even an event – to manage and offer various services to its users.

For the energy supplier, it was a question of being able to optimally plan the various accesses and services, to be able to offer local communities the possibility of setting up paid and customized services., to be able to inform the public at events and to manage public lighting, for example. For customers, the challenge was to offer a genuine user experience by making access to the various services simple, easy, intuitive, transparent and instantaneous.

This project is part of a Smart Villages vision. It involved setting up a connected solution with several systems, as well as external connected objects. The solution is deployed on a Microsoft Azure platform to provide a set of services that will evolve and increase over time. The solution generates a multitude of data from connected objects, which is stored and then valorized. In particular, this data is used to alert administrators to disfunctions or over-use of the infrastructure, based on thresholds set upstream.

Finally, the solution enables users to monitor their energy consumption via a cockpit, as well as tracking their spending via transactions entered in their virtual wallet.
